Triglav National Park Adventure

E-bike adventure will take you in the heart of Slovenia’s only national park.

Amazing e-bike adventure will take you into the heart of Slovenia’s only national park – Triglav national park, named after the highest peak of this lovely small country. Winding cycling paths of the tour will bring us the unforgettable views of some beautiful alpine valleys, mountain peaks, steep slopes, meadows, gorges, forests, rivers and waterfalls.

Day 1 ARRIVAL

We meet in Bovec, situated in a picturesque Soca valley. We will spend easy afternoon, you will meet your guide and set up bikes for the trip.

Day 2

First day we will start biking through Trenta valley to Soča river source. An Alpine river in character, its source lies in the Trenta Valley in the Julian Alps in northwestern Slovenia, at an elevation of 876. The road take us up to Vršič pass with an elevation of 1,611 metres, is a high mountain pass across the Julian Alps in northwestern Slovenia. It is the highest pass in Slovenia, as well as the highest in the Eastern Julian Alps. The road across the pass, now known as Russian Road (Ruska cesta), was originally built for military purposes in the early 19th century and followed an earlier trade route. The view on the surrounding peaks will take your breath away. Descent to Kranjska Gora will take us down the old part of the road and Mali Tamar valley. We will also see nordic center which is famous because of ski jumping world cup every year.

Day 3

Today’s ride will take us from Kranjska Gora to town of Mojstrana and into Vrata Valley. Vrata is most famous and also the most popular alpine valley. At the upper end it “crashes” into the wide Triglav north wall, and a few-minute ride from the parking lot will be rewarded with a splendid view of the wall. You will feel its power even if you don’t have the intention to hike further towards Triglav, and have a look at the magnificent symbol of Slovenia from up close without special effort. On the way to Vrata a stop-over at Peričnik waterfall is a must. After the brake the ride will take us back to Mojstrana and trough Radovna valley. The Radovna valley is nested between the Pokljuka and Mežaklja alpine plateaus and hides a rich history of iron working and forestry and great natural beauty. Cycling down the Radovna valley is relaxing and not overly demanding. The Trip is finished in Bled, where a swim in the lake makes a perfect end of the day. Overnight stay in Bled.

Day 4

We start biking day in heart of Triglav national park. From lake Bled we climb to Rudno polje and from there towards one of the nicest alpine meadows – Zajamniki and Uskovnica with many traditional shepherd’s huts that are nowadays transformed into idyllic holiday houses. There is a mountain hut at Uskovnica and provides ‘first aid’ for the hungry and thirsty. The meadows, forests and views of the Julian Alps and Bohinj mountains will surely captivate you. From Uskovnica we descent to lake Bohinj. After bike tour swim in Bohinj lake it’s a must. Overnight stay in Bohinj.

Day 5

Today we will have a little bit easier day. Van will pick us up in Bohinj and take us over the mountains back to Soca valley. We will start biking at Most na Soci lake. Our destination will be Kobarid. But on the way we will check the very famous Devils bridge and Tolminka gorge. After settling up in the hotel you can visit famous 1st WW museum in Kobarid, Overnight in Kobarid.

Day 6

After morning coffee in Kobarid we will start our ride along Nadiza river to the most Western village in Slovenia. And from there we will check how Italian cappuccino tastes in Cividale del Friuli. Free afternoon for exploring this little old Italian town and of course their good food and shops. For those who will be tired we will organise shuttle back to Kobarid. Those who will still have enough power in the legs can have a nice easy bike back to the hotel. Overnight in Kobarid

Day 7

15 min shuttle to village Livek above Kobarid. Our highest point will be Kolovrat ridge where we will stop at the museum on free. Renewed trenches from 1st WW where Rommel started his so called miracle at Kobarid. After we will start descending towards wine area Goriska Brda. Our trip will be rewarded with wine tasting in local Wine cellar (optional) Overnight in Šmartno.

Day 8

After breakfast in Goriska Brda we will say goodbye. Of course, you are more than welcome to extend your stay.
